For those who does not have a solid break plan and does not want to spend the whole break indoor either, here is a one day hiking activity. ** Where: Suicide Rock Trail near Idyllwild, CA http://www.localhikes.com/HikeData.ASP?DispType=0&ActiveHike=0&GetHikesStateID=&ID=5243 ** When: This Sat(Mar 24) It is 2 hours driving from UCSD and a 4 hours hiking so, We share leave around 8:30 and get together at the trail head around 10:30. Have lunch break at the summit around 12:30 to 1pm. head back after that. Possibly have dinner together. ** Who: Everyone is welcome. But please sign up at travel board at sd-bbs.net. So we can carpool and know how many people to wait. ** Weather: 5-15 C, Mostly Sunny is the forecast for Idyllwild. ** What to take: Everybody should take lunch and water with you Take two-way radios and set to channel 13 if you have. **Directions: Take I-15 then I-215 Leaving I-215 and take CA-74 exit toward Hemet Then take CA-243 north. The parking area is marked with a sign that says Deer Springs Trail Parking. It is right across from the San Jacinto State Park. The parking is easy to find, and the myriad trails from the parking area lead to the actual trail, just keep going up **Parking An adventure pass is required for parking and a free permit is also required for the San Jac Wilderness.
