Why Beach BBQ: It is still kind of hot in late Sept, so hiking might not be a good idea after all. We haven't have any activities near the sea yet, so let's go have one. Plus, for some reason, there is no BBQ for this year's CSSA newcomer orientation party, which i think is a pity. So let's get together and throw a BBQ party, it should be fun. When : Sept 24 (Sun.) 10am-2pm First weekend of the quarter, class just begins, newcomers won't be too busy, others must have been back from intern or China. Where: Mission Beach Mission Blvd & San Fernando Pl, San Diego, CA 92109 It has a big lawn and a couple of basketball fields. There are two big parking lots(should be free) 200 ft to the north of the location. //old comments I would say any beach other than La Jolla beach, since the CSSA newcomer orientation party will be likely in La Jolla beach. Equipment: BBQ grill: huaxia has a medium size one, and I will likely buy a grill myself. Let us know if you have a grill and want to share. Beach chairs, umbrellas: the more the better. do bring them if you have. Porker, football, fisbee: it is not just BBQ, we can have a lot of fun on the beach. Bathing suite: yeah, let's go swimming in the sea, it is fun and exciting. Don't forget to bring your own suite though, No one is going to share with you. Take some SPF-30 water resilient sun blcok with you too(well, i have, you can share mine if you don't want to buy your own.) Others: I cannot think of anything now, please give us suggestion if you can think of anything else. Food: Well, we again can buy BBQ from Zion. We also need some fruits and vegetables and drinks. If you have any other suggestions, do let us know.
